A space of our own

Our last submission to the log may as well have been from another galaxy; our buildout has gone a considerable distance since then.

We are officially fully walled-in. The 120x21 foot, one-hour fire-rated wall is up! It’s insulated, sheetrocked (so much sheetrock), taped and mudded, and (best of all) approved by the Town of Medfield. It is a colossal thing of beauty. The thing with adding a big wall is that the space is entirely altered. The brewery looks different. It sounds different. It’s even a different temperature. It’s ours.

When you build big walls, you then get to paint them. We put our stamp on the Farthest Star brewery, and that stamp is grey. The long walls are a light grey that reflects the light well but doesn’t make a glare. The front and back of the space are block walls for which we selected a medium grey to provide contrast. And then for fun, we chose a dark gray for our two ADA-compliant/family-friendly restrooms.

To close it all in, we’ve also installed a really tall garage door. Our door is 12 feet tall… almost big enough for the Rancor monster, but certainly big enough for any equipment we will need.
